You can't feel your toes, fire freezes in the hearth and it doesn't even snow....but not all the warmth is lost. Under the glittering stars and dazzling aurora, Amka's family huddle together, fishing for eels and knitting plenty of hats. In this heart warming tale, a young girl sets out on a quest to confront the dragon under the ice who has hoarded all of the fires and lights for himself. With lively poetry, transforming sets, atmospheric live music and exciting puppetry; Under the Frozen Moon brings to life a beautiful world of ice and adventure. In Half a String's new winter show for ages 3 and above, Amka's tale is a tender folk story of love, friendship and giving. we see her leave to give the ice dragon the most precious gift she has, a hug. She meets Luna the arctic fox on the way and together they voyage towards the dragon's cave to give him a hug. For the first time in his life the dragon has felt the warmth of another's love and breaks out of the ice to share it with the world, transforming into the sun. Half a String’s first production A Heart at Sea was launched in April 2016 in a secret garden, in the pilgrim’s city of Canterbury. Since then it has grown into a performance that is touring 2017-2018, was nominated for Les Enfant Terribles' LET AWARD, sold-out a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017, and won the Drayton Arms Eddies Award. The production was grown out of a love for storytelling, live music and puppetry.
